Everything You Need to Know about Kim and Kanye's Post - Divorce Arrangements

After much speculation about whether they are getting a divorce or not, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West parted ways earlier this year. Kim announced that she was filing for divorce on Friday, February 19, 2021.

Several weeks before the announcement, there were rumors that the marriage had hit the rocks, which is not a new thing for the A-list couple. Both parties refused to comment on their marital issues and even spent time together before the 40-year-old fashion mogul finally made her announcement.

Kardashian filed for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences, to which Kanye agreed in his response through his lawyer. Both parties agreed to terminate the judge’s right to grant either one of them spousal support in respect of their prenuptial agreement. The couple has also agreed to joint custody of their four children, seven-year-old North, five-year-old Saint, three-year-old Chicago, and two-year-old Psalm.

Kim also gets to keep their fifty-one-million-dollar California mansion. The now-divorced mother of four stated that her primary concern is her children while describing West as a great father. She made this statement on her family’s reality TV show ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians.’

Why the buzz around the divorce, and why is Kim Kardashian still showing public support for her ex-husband? This article answers all the questions you might have about Kim and Kanye’s post-divorce arrangement. Before we delve in, here is a brief history of their relationship.

KimYe Relationship Timeline

Although it was Kanye’s first marriage, Kardashian has previously been married twice. The American media personality and businesswoman married her first husband, Damon Thomas, when she was only 19 in 2000 and divorced in 2004. In 2011, the then 30-year-old had a fairy tale wedding with basketball player Kris Humphries. However, the marriage lasted only 72 days.

Kim met Kanye in 2003 while she was still married to her first husband, Thomas, and they became friends. They started dating in 2012 and welcomed their first child in June 2013.

In May 2014, eleven months after the birth of their child, the couple got hitched at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy. KimYe quickly became an American favorite, with the 44-year-old rapper appearing on the KUWTK show several times and participating in several family holidays. The couple also publicly supported each other, prompting fans to tag the union as the best Kardashian relationship.

The couple started having issues in 2016 after Kim was robbed in Paris. Several sources explained that the stress of the robbery and West’s erratic behavior in the same year took a toll on their marriage. However, both parties continued to support each other and put the rumors to rest. While campaigning for the presidency, the Monster rapper made a statement about how almost aborted the pregnancy of North. Many people believe that was the last straw for Kim, although she waited months before filing for divorce.

Post KimYe

Weeks after filing for divorce, rumor had it that the couple were not on good terms, and we expected another bitter separation and divorce like BradLina and other celebrity splits. According to reports, Kanye refused to meet with Kim after filing for divorce. Even though she kept trying to reach out to him, he refused to meet her for weeks after the divorce.

However, all seem to be well between them as they have been spotted together multiple times after the divorce. Kim was in attendance for both listening parties for the rapper’s 10th album, DONDA, with all four of their children to support him. The family was also recently spotted at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.

Aside from being spotted together, Kim has continued to show support for her ex-husband. A few weeks after filing for divorce, Kim was seen sporting Yeezy footwear and has shared a few posts about the Monster crooner’s 10th studio album, DONDA.

Public Opinion about Kim and Kanye’s Post Divorce Arrangement

Since the KimYe marital issue was made public 6 months ago, many people voiced their opinions about it.

The Negatives

A few people believe being in close contact isn’t good for either party, especially, since Kanye, who is known for his erratic behavior, has refused to get help for his mental health issues.

Others believe that being in close contact will prevent both parties from moving on with their lives and maintaining healthy relationships. This is especially true for Kim, who seems to be doing more to connect to her ex-husband than he is doing for her.

Fans from both ends are calling for a clean split. Kim’s fans think she is beating a dead horse by showing any form of support for him, especially after some of his lyrics off Donda reveals that he believes she is still in love with him.

On August 17, Kim shared a picture in which she was wearing a pair of Yeezy shoes. One of her Twitter fans, with the handle @ColdNorwegian, wrote, “You are a classy lady, but your shoes are terrible.” This is just one of the many negative comments about the peaceful arrangement between the former spouses.

Fans of Kanye are also hounding Kim on social media. On the same Twitter post, a Kanye fan with the handle @ThepopeXXVI wrote, “Take them Yeezys off, they are not for you anymore.” Another Kanye fan stated that he is waiting for the release of Donda to hear Kanye’s side of the story.

The Positives

The majority of observants approve of Kim and Kanye’s decision to support each other regardless of the divorce proceeding as it is believed to be best for their kids. The Kardashians have always been big on family, so it is understandable that the 40-year-old fashion mogul would give her all to maintain family virtues.

Kanye has also taken out time to hang out with the family, putting aside any animosity he may have towards the Kardashians in general. There has always been a lot of bad blood between Kanye and the family. In fact, he blocked all the members of the family shortly after the divorce was publicized.

People believe that Kim and Kanye, and Kanye are redefining what marriage, support, and family mean to Americans. They are showing that divorce shouldn’t necessarily be messy, especially for the little ones who can get permanently scarred from such endeavors.

Imagine if a child was caught in the middle of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s divorce. Well, we are happy that Kim and Kanye have decided not to walk that path. The toll such messiness would have on the children would have been immeasurable.

Kim and the children still wear footwear from her ex-husband’s brand, and she has refused to remove his name from her social media handles. She remains ‘Kim Kardashian West’.

Both parties were happy together and now are happy separately, and we wish them the best as they try to stay strong and civil for their mental health and their children’s sake.

Rounding Off…

Contrary to several people’s beliefs, including fans of KimYe, both parties have moved on with their lives. West was sighted with Russian model, Irina Shayk, and sources close to both parties confirmed dating rumors, saying things are as hot as ever between them.

Kim, on the KUWTK show, mentioned she doesn’t see herself being single for the rest of her life and would like to date again someday.

Both Kanye and Kim have always been unique individuals; we shouldn’t expect their divorce to be anything like those of others.
