Paige O'Bryan Named 2025 Knowledge and Achievement Award Winner

The Best Is Yet to Come? Girl, It’s Already Here.

Some people wait until they’ve “made it” to start making an impact. Paige O’Bryan didn’t get that memo.

She showed up to Cape Fear Family Law before she even graduated from her paralegal program. Moving across the country for love was just another easy choice. She dove head-first into one of the most challenging career fields there is. Then she proceeded to absolutely crush it.

We are beyond excited to announce that Paige O’Bryan is the recipient of Cape Fear Family Law’s 2025 Knowledge & Achievement Award! This award is 100% based on results. And Paige’s results? Chef’s kiss.

From Wisconsin to Jacksonville (A Love Story)

Let’s rewind to August 2024. Paige packed up her life in Clear Lake, Wisconsin—the cozy small town where she spent her entire childhood—and moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina. Why? Because her husband, a United States Marine, is stationed here. That’s what you do when you are the real deal. High school sweethearts. Easy. Period.

Wisconsin to a military town in coastal Carolina is quite the culture shift. The move was likely a big one, but you would never know by looking at Paige. Paige didn’t simply adapt; she thrived.

Started From the Classroom, Now We’re Here

Here’s what makes Paige’s story even more impressive: she joined Cape Fear Family Law before she graduated. While most people would wait until they have the degree hot in hand, Paige said “why wait?” She enrolled at Chippewa Valley Technical College in their full-time online program and started working simultaneously. She graduated in May 2025—and by then, she was already a key member of the Jacksonville team.

She also did it for her grandfather, whose dream of becoming a lawyer or judge she is now honoring through her own career path. That’s not just achievement. That’s legacy.

What the Numbers Say

Here’s what earned Paige this award:

  • High initiative and rapid skill development — She didn’t wait to be taught. She sought it out.
  • Strong achievement percentage — Her work directly contributed to client successes & outcomes.
  • Accuracy and analytical improvement — She got better every single month.
  • Meaningful contributions to process refinement — She helped make systems better.

What Her Colleagues Say

  • Erica Benson: “For literally everything.” #WhatDontYouDo
  • Granger Benson: “For being the best damn support staff—getting tasks done right and on time!” #crushingit
  • Grace Measel: “Thank you for being awesome.” #knowledgeable
  • Roy Jacobs: “Having a good attitude.” #positivevibes
  • Janet Gemmell (CEO): “You’re a godsend.”
  • Lisa: “Best POD ever! Thanks for making it count for our clients.”

The Jacksonville Crew

Paige is a huge part of what makes the Jacksonville office work. She’s Granger and Erica Benson’s go-to. She’s Cassandra Thompson’s partner in crime (solving legal mysteries, not committing them—she saves the crime for her podcasts). She’s the energy drink fairy who keeps Erica caffeinated. She’s one half of the “Two Paiges” duo with Paige Grove.

Janet said it best: “Excellence and fun aren’t opposites—they’re fuel for each other.” Paige proves that every single day.

Marine Wife Life

Let’s take a moment to appreciate what Paige is balancing. She moved across the country as a newlywed. She’s supporting a husband who serves in the United States Marine Corps. She’s navigating military life—the schedules, the uncertainty, the sacrifices—while also building her own career.

Her Boston terrier, Norman, still lives with her parents back in Wisconsin (and we’re sure she misses him terribly). She definitely helps give treats to the office pups, like Alfie when Roy brings him in. She and her husband are building their life here, together, making Jacksonville feel like home while they can be of service as a USMC family.
