Spotlight on Guadalupe Guevara
Guadalupe was born in Nicaragua. However, she left when she was young and has spent the last 25 years in the US. She has an older brother with whom she has remained close. Here in America, she lives in a house she had a hand in building. She built it primarily for her parents but still considers it home. She’s the mother of an adopted daughter and two rescue dogs.
Guadalupe is enthusiastic about the law and helping people. She worked for another law firm for two years before her time with Cape Fear. However, that firm focused on immigration cases rather than family ones. Guadalupe feels that in both legal niches, the focus should be on assisting individuals and families in need.
It’s About Personal Connection
Guadalupe says that working for a law firm, regardless of its area of focus, stimulates her. She never knows what each day will bring, and she likes that. She says a protocol must be followed when greeting each new client, but not at the expense of making a personal connection. She feels that each phone call from a potential client is the beginning of a new adventure.
Guadalupe is studying organizational psychology, in which she would like to eventually get a degree. Her focus on learning about mental health allows her to make people feel at ease. When someone is comfortable with her, it’s easier for them to explain what they require.
Guadalupe is attending in-person and online college courses. She likes the in-person classes on Saturdays, as they’re the most engaging.
Family is Her Passion
When speaking to Guadalupe, she frequently brings up her family. It’s evident how much her parents mean to her.
She describes herself as strong, positive, and enthusiastic. For her, the glass is always half full. She puts a lot of effort into everything she does. She’s outgoing and loves talking to people. She is motivated and always likes having plenty to do.
Much of her free time is spent with her family, but she considers herself a real gym rat when they’re not together. Exercise and working up a sweat is liberating for her.
She’s just as excited to try new restaurants in her area. While she lists Japanese, Chinese, and Indian as her favorite cuisines, she’s also an avowed carnivore. As long as the menu features meat, she’s happy. She enjoys singing and doesn’t shy away from her turn at karaoke.
Guadalupe is particularly proud of the work that went into the house where she currently lives. Though it was mostly to give her parents their own place, she likes having her own space there as well.
She rides a motorcycle she bought at age 18, which surprises some people. She likes to travel and has spent time in Central America, including Guatemala, El Salvador, and Costa Rica.
Much as she loves her parents, she anticipates eventually owning a house of her own. She wants to finish her college degree because of her enduring interest in psychology. Professional growth drives her as well.
On her off days, she likes relaxing and decompressing. She says love is her passion: love for her family and the people she gets a chance to help. She is a steadfast humanitarian who tries to see the good in everyone.
