Spotlight on Grace Measel
Grace Measel has many pleasant memories of her childhood spent in snowy Northern Colorado, where she grew up in a close family with two brothers and one sister. The eldest of the four, she always felt protective toward her younger siblings and watched out for them as they grew up. She’s also an animal lover and has owned eight dogs.
Grace discovered early on that she had an interest in the law. This eventually compelled her to attend Colorado State University, where she currently studies online. She is a political science major, as that is another of her enduring passions.
Career Goals
Grace is thrilled to be a receptionist at Cape Fear Law Firm. This is her first notable job within the legal niche. She regards it as “getting her foot in the door.” She has enjoyed getting to know the whole legal support staff and feels inspired by their dedication and the palpable sense of camaraderie.
Grace counts being hired by the firm as one of the most exciting moments of her life so far. She feels privileged to have the opportunity due to the potential for career growth the position represents.
She would like to be a divorce attorney one day. She knows that’s a particularly challenging area of the law but also a potentially fulfilling one.
She has already learned a lot during her limited time at the firm and has a great foundation of legal knowledge on which to build. She senses that what she picks up through her day-to-day interactions will be helpful when she is a practicing lawyer.
She is interested in becoming a mentor to younger and less experienced individuals when she reaches practicing lawyer status. However, she understands that such aspirations are a long way off. She also feels that she would one day like to open her own law firm if the circumstances allow. Fingers crossed!
Grace sees herself as a blank slate regarding her practical legal experience. She expects to learn a lot through osmosis and asking questions during her time with the firm.
Her Joys and Passions
These days, she lives with her fiancée and beloved dog, Moose. In her downtime, she enjoys exploring Wilmington, where you can often find her checking out the local museums. She and her fiancée are also avid moviegoers.
Grace is passionate about travel as well. She has spent time in Italy and Greece but also says there are several more countries on her bucket list that she would love to visit if given the opportunity.
Grace describes herself as determined and feels that this quality will help her represent her clients with bulldog-like tenacity when she passes the bar. She also feels she’s communicative and loves connecting with new people she meets.
As a receptionist, Grace likes the idea of interacting with people and making them feel at ease when they visit the firm’s offices. She understands the myriad of feelings that consulting a lawyer can sometimes produce and wants to reassure every potential client that they will be well taken care of.
Grace is excited to see what the next steps of her professional journey have in store, and she’s confident that the legal team at Cape Fear Family Law will provide her with a strong foundation of support.
