Spotlight on Daniela Cisneros
Daniela was born in Ecuador and graduated from UDLA in 2022. She became a lawyer and was also certified as a mediator. She has a Master’s degree in Oral Litigation and Procedural Law, but she has no plans to stop there. She is currently working on a second M.A. in Medical Law.
Daniela has been in the legal profession for upwards of six years. She started working in Ecuador as a legal assistant but quickly moved on to hold the positions of legal coordinator, senior attorney, and several others within the legal niche. She was eventually compelled to move to Colombia, where she currently resides.
She says she has embraced working for the Cape Fear Law Firm in a remote capacity. She was excited for the opportunity because it represented a way for her to become more well-rounded in her understanding of the law.
Human Rights Matter
Daniela says that protecting human rights is a passion, and that is what first drew her to pursue the law as a career. When she was younger, she was a part of the Model UN and engaged in debate classes. These led her to believe that she had the aptitude to succeed in the often-contentious area of representing clients in a courtroom setting.
Daniela envisioned one day fighting for individuals who were having their rights violated. She is equally passionate about family and international law.
She feels that family law matters more than many other kinds because it can directly impact a person’s mental state. She thinks that for a lawyer to truly represent their client to the best of their abilities, they must develop a rapport with them and understand the factors that are impacting the client’s daily life. That is part of what led her to become a mediator before eventually branching out into other positions within the legal profession.
When asked about the future she envisions in the legal niche, she says that becoming more well-rounded and knowledgeable about many areas of the law remains a top priority. She feels that societies worldwide are in the process of changing on numerous fronts. She says that the law needs to evolve to accommodate this ongoing metamorphosis.
Daniela is expansive when discussing the legal profession and her future in it. Clearly, this is a topic on which she has many thoughts. She feels that the more she educates herself and the more areas of legal knowledge in which she becomes an expert, the more she can help people.
She’s Looking Forward to Exploring Colombia’s Natural Wonders
Daniela describes herself as passionate, dedicated, and empathetic, all qualities that should serve her well given the areas of the law she is most interested in. She is single and has no pets, but her active social life keeps her very busy.
She plays the ukulele and enjoys singing and dancing. She loves all kinds of music. Her father is a musician, and she credits him with fueling her passions. She also stays fit by being active in a running club.
She is looking forward to continuing to explore Colombia. While she is always interested in urban adventures, she seems more drawn to natural wonders, of which the country has a ready supply. She particularly likes checking out the beautiful waterfalls that can be found in Colombia.
