Meet Dane Bryant
Have you ever met someone before that you just instantly knew would be there to help you out in a crisis? If so, well then you already know a paladin like Dane. He enjoys assisting clients whether that be through detailed drafting of a document, making a difficult or tedious phone call, or even running to the courthouse on the spur of a moment for someone in need. From a shift leader to working in restaurants through his college years, Dane prides his work ethic in staying determined and motivated all while finding humor in every situation. As a “Jack of All Trades” Dane not only previously mastered so many new things, but now is motivated to find fulfillment as a paralegal by performing detailed tasks that helps others and supports a cause bigger than himself. Honestly now, what is possibly bigger than helping families and protecting children?
Dane was born in Laguna Hills, California, trading perfect weather shortly after for the East Coast when he was eight years old. Having a bit of a pioneer spirit, his family chose to reside on a more rural property near Middleburg, Virginia. Some of Dane’s fondest memories come from this rural background such as the family love for raising horses and hiking backcountry trails. Dane along with his mother and sister had an affinity and passion for raising horses, especially for caring for off-the-track thoroughbreds (sometimes called frisky or spirited) and miniature ponies which served as therapy horses in the community. Living only an hour from Washington D.C., Dane took every opportunity to engage in cultural events and he soon became acquainted with international politics, which would later become his passion while studying at university.
Education
Homeschooled from seventh to eleventh grade, he was academically prepared (Janet says he was likely an overachiever from birth) for college and took every chance he could to participate in any and all extracurricular events and sports. From rugby and fencing all the way over to speech and debate teams and events; Dane did not lack gaining experience and connection one bit in those years of learning at home. Heck, Dane may be more well rounded then the rest of us as he has used every opportunity offered to gain friends and knowledge. For Dane, staying focused and determined during those formative educational years made for life long lessons that he will never forget.
We are definitely not going to say Dane talks “a lot” but instead we can confirm that Dane has the gift of gab. Dane was also very successful in speech and debate, placing fourth overall in the state of Virginia for Team Policy and Team Parliamentary debate styles in 2017. He learned civic leadership as an Eagle scout and held leadership positions in the Order of the Arrow.
After graduating high school from Loudoun Valley, Dane began his collegiate journey at Grove City College in Pennsylvania before later transferring his Junior year to UNCW where he graduated with a B.A in Political Science with a focus on Pre-Law. In the future, the attorneys in the office believe Dane may be spotted in one of North Carolina’s premiere law schools, especially since he was recently heard saying,” when I’m about 25 years old, I’ll decide if that’s the path I want to choose then.” With a few more years of experience and learning with the team at Cape Fear Family Law, there is no doubt that no matter what track his career takes, helping people will still remain his goal and he will be more than capable of conquering law school as well as he currently conquers office tasks and responsibilities.
New Opportunities and New Hobbies
Nowadays, Dane enjoys an extremely wide array of different hobbies. For example, you may be able to find him playing in the Cape Fear pinball league every Tuesday night. Always the eclectic man of the world, sometimes you may even stumble upon Dane behind the decks as a DJ downtown or at Wrightsville beach. Seeing him as a guitar or drum soloist? Sorry … wrong again, as the always elusive Dane actually plays the trumpet and enjoys scuba diving, hiking, and cooking. Wait a minute…. this is starting to sound more like a singles ad!!
Right about now you may be asking “what can’t Dane do?” or even thinking “wow, I had better keep my eye on this mover and shaker” as he is climbing the stairs to success two at a time.
Since graduating Dane has been serving as a paralegal here at Cape Fear Family Law. “I do a little of everything,” Dane explained of his new career when asked. Next for him is growing his community overall and he noted “I’ve also enjoyed some chances to get to know my coworkers away from work. We get together sometimes with the Jacksonville office crew for bowling.” One thing Dane has not yet conquered seems to be bowling – “I think nobody got above a fifty score.”
Dane likes to sustain a competitive edge and is looking forward to taking on new problems and learning more about the field in the future. You should count yourself lucky indeed when Dane gets assigned to help with your case because he cares!
